Annalise Oertwich, 5th Grade Teacher at Sherwood Elementary

Annalise grew up in Pendleton and graduated from PHS, where she was the only Alaskan Native in the school. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Linfield University and completed her student teaching in the McMinnville School District. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family. Asked what she is most excited about as a new teacher at PSD, Annalise said, “I am most excited to come back home and be a representation for our diverse populations — to show all students that no matter their race, ethnicity, or backgrounds, they can achieve whatever they set their minds to.”
