Superintendent Message – June 18, 2020
Although the 2019-2020 school year did not end as planned, we can look back with pride with our collective response. When I say collective, that includes our parents taking on a new role in Distance Learning 4 All, our teachers, and of course, our students who demonstrated persistence in participating in a new and unfamiliar manner, removed from their classrooms, teachers, and friends.
We have heard from our staff, and many of the students have been surveyed for their perspectives on the last twelve weeks of school. Now we are asking for you, our parents, to provide us feedback as well. Tomorrow, Friday, June 19th you will be notified of a survey that we would like you to complete. The survey is a total of fifteen (15) questions that fall under one of two categories, 1) your views of Distance Learning 4 All and 2) your positions on opening school in the fall.
Some of you may be aware that districts across the state received initial guidance last week for re-opening schools. Each district, in collaboration with their local public health department, will create a plan that will ensure safe environments and allow us to resume working with your children. Please take the time and complete the survey; we need your input to help us develop our plan. Once we have drafted a re-opening plan, it will be made available for feedback prior to our submission deadline of August 15th.
Thank you, and please check our website or Facebook pages weekly for updates to re-opening plans.
